Sameway Magazine (Est. 2004) – History

History and Commitment

Sameway Magazine (同路人) was established in September 2004 by Rejoice Chinese Christian Communication Centre Inc (REJOICE) with the mission of supporting Melbourne’s Chinese community by providing accessible information and news in Chinese, assisting integration into Australian society.

On July 1, 2012, Sameway Magazine was incorporated as Creative Every Day Pty Ltd.

From its inception, Sameway adopted an independent stance on Chinese politics, recognizing the Australian government’s acknowledgment of the People’s Republic of China as the legitimate government but also emphasizing cultural and economic collaboration with the Republic of China. The magazine prioritizes addressing global Chinese issues rather than exclusively catering to Chinese interests from mainland China.

Sameway aligns its content with Australian values and actively supports Chinese Australian migrants in becoming engaged Australian citizens. The magazine also reflects concerns of the Chinese community to Australian government levels and collaborates with community organizations to enhance their services.

Sameway has consistently supported the ministry of REJOICE, especially its community development programs. The magazine works with volunteers to produce SameVoice Sameway, a Chinese community broadcasting program currently aired on 3WBC FM94.1 and 3SER FM97.7.
